About Kananaskis Campground Services
Meet KCS
Kananaskis Campground Services (KCS) is an Alberta-based company that operates and maintains campgrounds and day-use areas throughout the eastern region of Kananaskis Country under partnership with Alberta Parks.
Our team lives and works in the communities surrounding Kananaskis Country, bringing long-standing local knowledge and experience to daily park operations. Many of us have worked in these areas for years - some even grew up here - and we offer a practical understanding of the landscapes, seasons, and visitor needs unique to each valley.
Our mission is to provide a memorable, safe, and enjoyable experience for all visitors. We are committed to acting as responsible stewards of these spectacular areas, and we take pride in our role as ambassadors for one of Alberta's most cherished areas - Kananaskis Country.
We work closely with Alberta Parks, local communities, and regional partners to provide welcoming and cared for facilities —now and into the future.
Our Services
In addition to operating campgrounds, KCS undertakes maintenance and facility management contracts within our local service area.
Our teams provide practical, on-the-ground support including grounds and facility maintenance, snow removal, firewood provision, and general labour services. With established crews, equipment, and regional experience, we can support projects directly or work in partnership with other contractors and organizations.
If you are looking for capable, locally based support for an upcoming project, we encourage you to get in touch.

Definitely the community that we are a part of. There are so many different sub-cultures that use East Kananaskis and I love them all. I try to get involved in as many pursuits as possible.

I have a few quiet, tucked away spots I like to go to. They all have some sort of moving water and dense, mossy greenery. ;)
-
Random conversations with strangers when you least expect it are the best. I’ve met some amazing people and heard some incredible stories over the years. I always seem to meet them at the right time too. :)
-
I’ve been fortunate enough to come across cougars, bobcats and bears on more than one occasion. The most memorable sighting though would probably be the time I came across a full sized grizzly bear “wrestling” with a grizzly cub in the middle of the road. Without getting into too many details, let’s just say things didn’t end well for the cub. “Nature, red in tooth and claw” -Tennyson :o

What’s not to love?! We live and work in the most beautiful place in Alberta. Sharing the outdoors with our visitors and local community every day is a dream come true!
-
If you are short on time, one of the most underrated walks in the area is the Beaver Ponds Loop trail. The mountain views are dramatic and the trail through the ponds is magical!
-
In the Winter, our family loves to cross country ski. West Bragg offers trails of various lengths and abilities so we can always squeeze something in depending on who we have with us!
Kate Caswell
Kate is often the friendly voice on the phone and the person making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly—from coordinating staff to managing reservations and helping with visitor questions, she does it all! With a background in small business, Kate brings practical problem-solving skills, organization, and a can-do attitude to every day at the parks. She keeps operations humming and makes sure both visitors and staff feel supported—from the first call to the last checkout—so everyone can enjoy K-Country without a hitch.

Everything! From the beautiful land we work on to the amazing people who make up the local community, it truly is a joy coming to work every day. Specifically though, we have an amazing team of people who all share a love for camping and the outdoors. Our team is always quick to offer support to each other, ensuring that everyone feels seen, appreciated, and supported throughout the season.

I see a lot of wildlife in the morning on my way into work, but the one that always makes my heart skip a beat are the wild horses. There`s nothing quite like witnessing the beauty and power of the horses that roam free in Alberta. They truly are a magical sight to see!
-
Bring layers! I know for myself, being too cold can quickly ruin a camping trip, especially when it`s rainy. The temperature drops quickly, especially once you put your fire out for the night, so you always want to make sure that you have plenty of warm, dry clothes on hand!
Our Field Staff
Our campground managers, maintenance crews, and store staff are the heart of our operations. These dedicated individuals are on the front lines, ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors. We are proud to have a consistent returning team of seasoned professionals who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping guests and fellow co-workers experience the best of Kananaskis Country.
